Selios Privacy Policy

Countryside Interactive LLC · Effective 25 October 2026

This policy explains what information Selios: Arrow Escape Puzzle (“Selios”) collects, why, who receives it, and the choices you have. It covers the Selios apps for iPhone and iPad and for Android. We have tried to write it in plain English. If anything is unclear, email us at support@countrysideinteractive.com.

1. Who we are

Selios is made by Countryside Interactive LLC (“we”, “us”). For the purposes of data protection law, we are the controller of the information described in this policy, except where section 5 says a provider acts as an independent controller under its own policy.

2. The short version

3. Information kept on your device

Selios saves your progress in a file on your device. It includes the levels you have completed and your stars, the level in progress, your daily-puzzle history and streak, hints, unlocked modes, Gallery pictures, purchases the app has confirmed, and your settings (theme, sound, haptics, tap mode, reduce motion, grid overlay, left-handed layout and similar). It also includes your lifetime play totals, a random install ID used to distinguish progress from different installations, your reminder settings, and counters the app uses to space out ads, such as when the last ad was shown, and the ad network and response ID of the last full-screen ad, which the “Report last ad” option uses. On Android it includes the kind of age signal Google Play last gave the app (section 4).

Your answers to the consent and privacy messages (section 7) are stored on your device by Google’s consent software.

We do not receive the save file. If your device backs up apps (for example iCloud Backup on iOS or Google’s Android backup), your device’s backup service may include it, under that service’s own settings and terms. Deleting the app or clearing its data deletes your progress on that device, but does not delete backups or any cloud-save copies. See below for how those copies are managed.

Reminders

If you turn on the Daily reminder, in Settings or with the button the game may offer after a daily puzzle, Selios shows you one notification a day, at the time you choose, to say that the day's puzzle is ready. These reminders are created on your device by the app itself. We do not send them from a server, and we do not receive the time you chose, whether notifications are allowed on your device, or whether you saw or tapped a reminder. The reminder is off until you turn it on. If you restore or move your progress to another device, the reminder is off there until you turn it on. You can turn it off at any time in Selios's Settings or in your device's notification settings.

Cloud save

Cloud save is currently disabled. The following describes how it works if it becomes available and you use it.

If cloud save is on, Selios keeps a copy of your progress in your own cloud storage, so that a new device or a reinstall has it: in iCloud on iPhone and iPad, and in Google Play Games saved games on Android. The copy holds the levels you have completed and your stars, your daily-puzzle history and streak, your hints, your lifetime totals, most of your settings, and your tutorial and Gallery progress. It does not hold a level in progress, your purchases, your privacy choices, or your ad settings or ad history. One count about ads does travel, with your hints: how many hints each install of the game earned from rewarded ads, because your hint total is made of what was earned and what was spent. Each install of the game keeps its own copy and reads the others, and they are merged on your device.

We cannot read these copies. They are stored under your Apple or Google account by Apple's or Google's own software, under that company's terms; Countryside Interactive has no server, account or tool that can open them, and they are not used for advertising or analytics. They contain no name, e-mail address or account ID; each install of the game is named by a random ID. To notice that the device has been signed in to a different cloud account, Selios keeps a scrambled value of the account's identity (on Android, of your Play Games player ID) on the device only (and in your device's own backup of the game's save, if your device backs apps up: "Backups by your device" below); if it changes, Selios asks you before it merges anything.

Progress does not move between Apple and Android devices, and cloud save does not carry purchases: use Restore purchases. On Android, cloud save needs Google Play Games: it works only while you are signed in to Play Games, and it is off for players we must treat as under age. Without it, your device's own backup is what a new phone restores.

To turn cloud save off, use the Cloud save switch in the game's Settings, or your device's own iCloud or Play Games settings for Selios. To delete the copies: first turn Cloud save off in Selios on each of your devices; then, on iPhone or iPad, open Settings, tap your name, then iCloud > Manage Storage > Selios > Delete data; on Android, in the Play Games app, open Settings > Delete Play Games account & data and delete Selios's data. If you delete the copies while cloud save is still on somewhere, that device can upload its copy again. Deleting the game does not delete what is in your cloud.

Backups by your device

If your device backs up apps (iCloud Backup or a computer backup on iPhone and iPad, Google's backup on Android), or you move to a new device with the system's transfer tool, that backup may include Selios's save file, depending on your backup settings. This is your device's own backup, in your own account, under Apple's or Google's terms; we do not receive it. You turn it off, or delete a backup, in your device's backup settings.

4. Information collected when you play

Depending on your choices and where you live, the apps collect the following through the services in section 5:

WhatExamplesWhy
Device and app identifiersFor ads only: the advertising ID (IDFA on iPhone and iPad, only if you allow tracking; the Advertising ID on Android), the App Set ID on Android and, where they apply, other identifiers related to accounts signed in on the device. For ads and for purchases: on iPhone and iPad, the identifier for vendors (IDFV), an ID Apple gives the apps of one developer on your device. For analytics, crash reports and game settings: app instance, installation and session IDs created by Firebase; on Android, Google’s Analytics software may also report the Android ID (section 5). For purchases: an anonymous RevenueCat user IDShowing and measuring ads, limiting how often ads repeat, preventing fraud, counting players, finding bugs, delivering game settings, keeping track of purchases
Device and network informationDevice model and brand, operating system and version, language, app version, time zone, IP address, approximate location derived from the IP address (for analytics, your country or region, never your city)Serving ads in the right language and region, applying the right consent rules, diagnosing problems, the daily puzzle’s date
Gameplay and usageLevels started and finished, time spent, taps, bounces, undos and hints used, daily-puzzle results and streaks, tutorial steps, settings changes, your text-size range, Shop visits and purchase attempts, which of two Shop price lists you were shown, ads offered and watched, your consent status, and on iPhone and iPad your answer to the tracking promptUnderstanding whether puzzles are too easy or too hard, improving the game, setting ad frequency fairly
Ad interactionsAds requested, shown and clicked; rewarded ads completed; and, as recorded by the ads software, app launches, taps and video viewsDelivering ads, rewarding you for rewarded ads, measuring ad performance, preventing fraud, paying us for ads shown
PurchasesProduct bought, price and currency, store transaction ID, purchase date (not your name or payment card)Giving you what you bought, restoring purchases, handling refunds, keeping records required by law; when analytics is on, counting purchases (the product, its price and currency only)
Crash and diagnostic dataCrash reports, error traces, device state at the time of a crash (for example free memory, free storage and orientation), and the analytics events recorded just before it. While crash reporting is on, also a short session record when the app starts, with no crash involved (section 5)Finding and fixing bugs
Consent choicesThe choices you make in the consent and privacy messages, stored on your device. The ads software reads them and sends them with its ad requestsRespecting your choices

Analytics events are made of numbers and fixed labels (for example a level number or “win”). The app never puts free text, a name or contact details in them.

Your age range

Android. The app asks Google Play’s Age Signals whether the player is an adult, a minor or of unknown age. Google Play may ask whether you want to share this with Selios. If you do not share it, or Google Play does not provide age signals for your account (for example in a region with no law that calls for them), the app treats the signal as not applicable. The app receives an age range, never a date of birth. It uses it only on your device, to decide which ads, prompts and purchase offers to show (section 10), and saves only the kind of answer (for example adult, minor or unknown). It does not send your age range to us or to analytics. The one thing that leaves your device is a marker on the app’s ad and consent requests to Google, saying that the player should be treated as under the age of consent.

iPhone and iPad. The current version of Selios does not ask Apple for an age range.

The daily puzzle’s date

So that a daily puzzle counts on the right day even if a device clock is wrong, the app asks our website, countrysideinteractive.com, for the current time when it starts or comes back to the foreground. The request contains no game data and no identifier from the game. Like any website request, it reaches our website host with your IP address, the time and basic app information (section 5).

If you contact us

If you email us, we receive your email address and the message and attachments you choose to send. The “Report last ad” option and the support link open a draft in your own mail app; the ad report draft names the ad network, the ad’s response ID, its format and the time it was shown. Nothing is sent unless you send it. We use your email to answer your request and investigate the issue. Email is handled through our Google Workspace service. Please do not send passwords, payment details or sensitive personal information.

Sharing your results

The daily puzzle’s Share button uses your device’s own sharing tools. You choose the destination; we do not receive your shared result.

Selios in a web browser

Where Selios is offered in a web browser, that version saves progress in the browser’s storage and has no ads, analytics, crash reports or purchases. It loads its files from the website that hosts it and nothing from Google’s content delivery network. The rest of this policy describes the iPhone, iPad and Android apps.

Achievements and leaderboards

Achievements and leaderboards are currently disabled. The following describes these services if they become available.

When these features are enabled, Selios uses Apple's Game Center on iPhone and iPad, and Google Play Games on Android, for achievements and leaderboards. If you are signed in to that service, Selios sends it your achievements in the game and four scores: your longest Daily streak, your total stars, the last level you passed and the number of Nightmare levels you have won. Your scores are shown on public leaderboards, where other players can see them beside your Game Center or Play Games name. Selios has no setting of its own for this: to change who can see your name, or to stop taking part, use that service's settings (on iPhone and iPad, Settings > Game Center; on Android, the settings of Play Games), or sign out of it there. Apple or Google holds this information under your gaming profile and handles it under its own privacy policy. We do not receive or keep your nickname, your player ID or your picture, and we have no server that stores your achievements or scores. To delete them, use that service's settings; deleting Selios does not remove them. If you are not signed in, Selios sends no achievement and no score. The service itself is still contacted when you open the game, to see whether you are signed in: on Android, Google's Play Games software is started and contacts Google, and Selios asks it to sign you in, once each time you open the game, and Google may show its sign-in screen; on iPhone and iPad, Selios asks Game Center, until you have turned its sign-in down once. We do not use these services at all, and do not contact them, for players we must treat as under age (see "Children").

What we do not do

5. Third-party services and what they collect

Each provider handles information under its own privacy policy, linked below. We share the information described here only with these providers, only for the purposes listed, and under terms that require them to protect it at least as well as this policy describes.

Each box says whether the provider is our processor (it handles information only on our behalf and on our instructions; a “service provider” under US state laws) or an independent controller (it also decides how to use the information, under its own policy).

Google AdMob and Google User Messaging Platform (ads and consent)

AdMob chooses and shows the ads in Selios: short full-screen ads between some levels, and optional reward videos that you choose to watch for a hint, an extra heart or a theme trial. There are no banner ads. AdMob is the only ad network in Selios. No other ad network receives your information from the game; if we add one, we will update this policy.

We limit ads to Google’s PG content rating (“parental guidance”): the app asks for that limit with its ad requests, and the same limit is set for Selios in AdMob.

Google’s ads software collects the advertising ID (on iPhone and iPad only if you allow tracking; on Android unless you have deleted it), the identifier for vendors on iPhone and iPad, the App Set ID on Android and, where they apply, other identifiers related to accounts signed in on the device (Selios itself has no accounts), your IP address (from which Google estimates a general location), device and app information, your interactions with the app and its ads (such as app launches, taps and video views), and diagnostic information about how the app and the ads software perform. Google uses them to show ads, to limit repeats, to measure ads and to prevent fraud, and, where you have allowed it, to personalize ads. With each request the app also tells Google whether ads may be personalized, whether the player must be treated as under the age of consent (section 10), and whether sound is off.

The ads software starts only when the app first needs an ad, and the app requests an ad only after Google’s consent service says it may. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland that is after you have answered the consent message (section 7). Until the app has been able to check which rules apply, for example on a first launch with no internet connection, it requests no ads.

Google’s User Messaging Platform shows the consent and privacy-choices messages and stores your choices on your device. Each time the app starts, and before the first ad of a session, it asks Google which message applies where you are. This request has to come before any consent, because it is how consent is asked for. It carries our AdMob app ID, your IP address (from which Google works out your region), device and software information and, where it applies, the under-age marker described in section 4.

Role: independent controller for ad serving and personalization. When you opt out of “sale” or “sharing” under US state laws, Google restricts its processing and acts as our service provider.

Google Firebase: Analytics, Crashlytics and Remote Config

Role: Google acts as our processor for Firebase data, under Google’s data processing terms.

Google Privacy Policy · Privacy and Security in Firebase

RevenueCat (in-app purchases)

RevenueCat keeps track of which purchases (Remove Ads, theme packs, the Supporter bundle) belong to your device so that they keep working and can be restored. The app contacts RevenueCat each time it starts, whatever your consent choice, to check what you own. RevenueCat receives an anonymous app user ID that it creates (a new one after a reinstall), the store’s transaction and receipt details, your IP address, and what its software sends with every request: the app’s ID, version and build number, your platform and operating system version, your device model (on Android also its brand), your device’s language and region settings and your store’s country. On iPhone and iPad it also sends the identifier for vendors (IDFV), an ID Apple gives the apps of one developer on your device; it is not the advertising ID, and it changes if you delete all of our apps and install one again. On iPhone and iPad its software also tells RevenueCat the status of Apple’s tracking permission (not asked yet, restricted, denied or allowed), and never the advertising ID itself. Because the check does not depend on your consent choice, all of this is sent whatever you answer to a consent message, and before you answer. On Android no device identifier is sent. RevenueCat does not receive your name, your email address, your payment details or your advertising ID.

We may test two prices for Remove Ads, so two players may see different prices for a time. When analytics is on, it records which of the two price lists you were shown.

Role: processor.

RevenueCat Privacy Policy

Apple and Google (app stores, payments and age signals)

Apple (App Store) and Google (Google Play) process your download and any payment under their own terms; we never see your payment details. If you choose to share analytics with developers in your device settings, they also give us aggregated statistics and crash reports. On iPhone and iPad, iOS shows the tracking prompt (section 6). On Android, the age signal described in section 4 comes from Google Play.

Role: independent controllers.

Our website host

Our website, including this page and the daily puzzle’s date check, is hosted through OpenAI Sites and delivered through Cloudflare. Hosting services receive your IP address and request information, such as the time and browser or app information, and may process logs for delivery, reliability and security. When you open website pages in a browser, hosting services may also use security mechanisms, including cookies. See our website privacy notice for information about this website.

Role: processors: they handle this information only to provide the hosting and keep it secure.

6. Advertising IDs and App Tracking Transparency

Your device’s advertising ID is used for ads only, by Google’s ads software. Analytics, crash reporting and purchases never use it.

iPhone and iPad. Before iOS shows its tracking prompt, Selios shows one screen explaining what tracking means here: it lets Google’s ads software use your device’s advertising identifier (IDFA) to show ads that are more relevant to you and to measure them. The IDFA is used only if you then choose to allow tracking. If you choose “Ask App Not to Track”, the IDFA is not available to Selios or to the ads software, and you still get ads, just not ones based on tracking across other companies’ apps and websites. You can change this at any time in iOS Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Selios does not show the explanation or the prompt to a player it must treat as under the age of consent (section 10). It also holds them back while your ads could not be personalized anyway: before you have answered a consent message that applies to you, after “Do not consent” or a refusal of personalized ads, and after a US state opt-out (section 7). They come once your choice allows personalized ads.

Google may also learn whether an ad shown in Selios led to an app install through Apple’s SKAdNetwork, which reports ad results without the IDFA and without identifying you or your device.

Android. Google Play services provides an advertising ID that Google’s ads software uses. In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, whether it may be used for ads depends on your answer to the consent message (section 7). You can reset or delete it in your device settings (on most devices, Settings > Privacy > Ads, or Settings > Google > Ads). If you delete it, ads are not personalized using it.

7. Your consent and how to change it

Game settings from Remote Config, the purchase check with RevenueCat and the daily puzzle’s date check do not depend on these choices (sections 4 and 5).

Buying Remove Ads stops the ads that appear between levels. Reward videos stay available if you choose to watch them, and analytics and crash reporting continue as described above.

8. US state privacy rights

Several US states (for example California, Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Texas and Oregon) give their residents rights over their personal information. Whether or not a state law applies to us or to you, we answer the requests described below from any US user.

What we collect and disclose

Selios collects the categories of personal information below, from your device and through the services in section 5, for the purposes in section 4. We review this section at least once every 12 months. We do not collect sensitive personal information as defined by California law.

CategoryDisclosed for a business purpose to these service providersSold or shared (only while personalized ads are on) to

“Sale” and “sharing”

We do not sell personal information for money. When personalized ads are on, making identifiers, ad interactions and approximate location available to Google AdMob may count as a “sale” or “sharing” for cross-context behavioral advertising (also called “targeted advertising”) under these laws. For that purpose Google is a third party, not our service provider. Our analytics, crash-reporting and purchase providers do not receive your advertising ID and act as our service providers.

Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information: in US states with privacy laws where Google’s privacy message applies, open Settings > Privacy choices in Selios to opt out. Wherever you live, you can also limit ad tracking on your device (section 6): on iPhone and iPad, choose “Ask App Not to Track” or turn off Allow Apps to Request to Track; on Android, delete your advertising ID. Because Selios has no accounts, we cannot change the settings on your device from our side; if you email us to opt out, we will reply with these steps.

Players under 16. We cannot know a player’s exact age. Where Google Play tells the app that a player is a minor or that their age is unknown, Selios asks only for non-personalized ads, so it does not sell or share that player’s information for targeted advertising (section 10). If we learn in another way that a player is under 16, we will treat them the same way.

Your rights

To make a request, email support@countrysideinteractive.com. Because Selios has no accounts, we hold no name or email address that links data to you, and we may ask for details that help us find data tied to your device. We cannot retrieve or erase a save stored only on your device. If we cannot verify a request or find related data, we will tell you why. You may use an authorized agent, who must show that you have authorized them. If we refuse your request, you can appeal by replying to our answer with “Appeal” in the subject line; we will respond within the time the law requires. If your appeal is denied, you may contact your state’s attorney general.

9. EEA, UK and Swiss privacy rights

Legal bases

Do you have to give us information?

No law or contract requires you to provide personal data. If you do not consent, the whole game still works; you may see fewer or less relevant ads, and we get less information to improve the game.

Automated decisions and profiling

We make no decisions about you based solely on automated processing that have legal or similarly significant effects. If you consent to personalized ads, Google’s advertising services use profiling to choose which ads to show you. You can withdraw that consent at any time.

Your rights

You have the right to access your personal data, to have it corrected or erased, to restrict or object to its processing, to receive it in a portable format, and to withdraw consent at any time (in Settings > Privacy choices) without affecting processing that happened before. To use these rights, email support@countrysideinteractive.com. As explained in section 8, we may ask for details that help us find data tied to your device. You also have the right to complain to your local data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office).

10. Children and teens

Selios is meant for players aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. The app does not ask for your age or date of birth. On Android, Google Play may tell the app that a player is a minor (under 18). The app keeps only that fact, not the age range Google Play gave, so it cannot tell a child under 13 from an older minor.

For a player it has been told is a minor, the app applies the rules below. They limit what is collected and how it is used, but they do not stop collection altogether: the game settings and the purchase check still run (section 5), ads are still requested under the limits below, and outside the EEA, the UK and Switzerland analytics and crash reports stay on. If you believe a child under 13 has used Selios, email us and we will delete what we can find and ask our providers to do the same.

On Android, where Google Play reports that a player is a minor or that their age is unknown (section 4), and until Google Play has given the app an answer at all, Selios treats the player as under the age of consent:

Once Google Play has reported a minor or an unknown age, the following also apply from the next time the app asks Google which consent message applies. It asks each time the app starts, and again before the first ad after you come back to the app from a longer break. The first time the app is opened it has to ask before it has read the age signal, so a message may still be shown then, and the answer given there applies only until the app asks again.

On iPhone and iPad, the current version of Selios asks for no age range, so these rules apply there only if we switch them on for every player. The game settings in section 5 let us do that, on iPhone and iPad and on Android alike, for example if age signals could not be relied on. That switch is off today.

11. How long information is kept

12. Security

Information sent by the app to the services in section 5 and to our website travels over encrypted connections (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, but we choose established providers and collect as little as we can.

13. International transfers

We are based in the United States, and our providers process information in the United States and other countries. When personal data from the EEA, the UK or Switzerland is transferred, we and our providers rely on recognized safeguards, such as the European Commission’s Standard Contractual Clauses (and their UK and Swiss equivalents) or a provider’s participation in the EU-US Data Privacy Framework and its UK and Swiss extensions. To get a copy of the safeguards that apply, email us.

14. Changes to this policy

We will update this page and its effective date when our practices change, including before we add another ad network or another service that receives your information. Where the law requires your consent for a change, we will ask for it.
